Welcome, my dear visitor
This blog is where you join me to critically examine the law around us. Have you ever wondered since when the law around us took shape in what we know today? On which ground was such law based on? If such questions sound interesting to you, then you are very much welcomed to stay in this blog for a while.
I am Lan, a graduate Master of Law student at the Australian National University (ANU). On my journey walking back from the ANU Law Library to my room, I kept thinking about those above questions. And at many points, I got stuck in my attempt to explain each tiny bit of law I encountered, which, at times, made me feel frustrated and impatient with law. One day, on my usual stroll, I stopped for a moment to enjoy the scenery in ANU campus. There I spotted a couple of ducks paddling on the creek, then all moved to walk on the grass to find food.
Staring at the ducks, I find them a little cute and foolish, yet very curious and adventurous. The ducks inspire me in the sense that I do not have to appear and sound smart from right start in my conceptualization of law. As a law student, I constantly feel pressured that I have to make it right and know it all. This time, I want to change my learning approach. Why not let my curiosity lead the way and paddle on the journey to trace the history of law and the understanding of this world with little small steps?
If you have read the message till this point, I invite you to join me to explore the world of law little by little like the cute little ducks.
